Built in the <b>Seventeenth Century<\/b> by the religious order of the Jesuits and whose purpose was to evangelize the indigenous peoples. <\/p>\n<p>Its murals in <b>gold leaf<\/b> and its <b>paintings<\/b> of the Cusco school make it a unique space, however, in order to preserve these spaces <b>no photos or videos<\/b> are allowed. It is believed to have been built during the <b>reign of the Inca Wiracocha<\/b>, the <b>rule of Pachac\u00fatec<\/b> and the last period dominated by the <b>Inca T\u00fapac Yupanqui<\/b>. This has approximately <b>one thousand hectares<\/b> and in it we can find constructions such as <b>aqueducts, subway tombs and enclosures of the pre-Inca culture<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Raqchi Archaeological Complex\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.howlanders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/archeological-site-raqchi.jpg?resize=640%2C310&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"archaeological ruins in raqchi\" width=\"640\" height=\"310\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14766\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.howlanders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/archeological-site-raqchi.jpg?w=825&amp;ssl=1 825w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.howlanders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/archeological-site-raqchi.jpg?resize=768%2C372&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.howlanders.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/archeological-site-raqchi.jpg?resize=124%2C60&amp;ssl=1 124w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The most remarkable is the <b>Temple to Wiracocha<\/b>, the largest Inca Temple, the Statue, the Enclosures, the Colcas and finally the Bath of the Inca and the Usno. <\/p>\n<p>The price to access the complex is 15 soles (4 \u20ac approx) and it is recommended to wear hats to protect you from the sun.<\/p>\n<h3>Sicuani<\/h3>\n<p>Although it is not a cultural stop as such, is there anything more traditional than stopping to eat the typical food of this area?<\/p>\n<p>At this third stop, you will eat at the <b>restaurant La Pascana<\/b>. It is located just outside the town of <b>Sicuani<\/b> and features a great <b>variety of typical<\/b> Peruvian national and regional food. Hot drinks are included in the price, however cold drinks are not included.<\/p>\n<h3>Paso de la Raya<\/h3>\n<p>The trip continues through <b>Paso de la Raya<\/b>, the border between Cusco and Puno at <b>4,335 meters above sea level<\/b> located over the Andres Mountains, where the Amazon River rises. <\/p>\n<p>It is known for its <b>picturesque sloping hillsides<\/b> and landscapes where you can take pictures. Among them you can find the famous sculpture of the <b>Hatun\u00f1aqac<\/b>, which translated from Quechua would be the &#8220;<b>supreme slaughterer<\/b>&#8220;. The entrance fee is 10 soles (3\u20ac approx).
