Few destinations are as iconic as the “End of the World.” If you love hiking, Ushuaia is a dream come true. In this guide, we’ll take you through Tierra del Fuego National Park and its best trails.
How to visit Tierra del Fuego National Park from Ushuaia
At around 9 AM, we arrived near the Ushuaia pier, where shuttles depart for the national park. These shuttles are in high demand and have multiple departure times, but schedules can change. It’s best to confirm the latest information at your hotel or directly at the pier the day before your visit.
Getting to Tierra del Fuego National Park
The journey to the park takes about 30 minutes. Before entering, you’ll need to purchase a ticket, which can be valid for one day or up to 72 hours—a great option if you plan to return. Prices and regulations may change, so checking in advance is always a good idea.

Hiking Trails in Tierra del Fuego National Park
The park features four main trails, and you can combine them depending on your hiking preferences and the weather conditions.

During the summer season (December-March), shuttle services offer flexible drop-off and pick-up points at different times. However, schedules may be more limited in winter, so plan accordingly.
Tips for Hiking in Ushuaia
- Dress in layers: The weather is unpredictable, and you can experience four seasons in one day. Pack thermal clothing, a windbreaker, and a rain jacket.
- Bring snacks and water: While the park has a restaurant with fair prices, it’s always good to have extra food and water.
- Be aware of your return transport: The shuttle that brings you to the park may not be the one that takes you back. Make sure you’re at the designated pickup points at the correct times and signal white vans when they approach.

If you want to explore Tierra del Fuego National Park without worrying about logistics or missing your return transport, a guided tour is the best option. Many tours also include a ride on the End of the World Train, an unforgettable experience in Ushuaia.
